¶ Basics
You do not need to install any software - everything is managed via your browser.
¶ Browser
The CMS works well with all modern browsers such as Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Edge and Internet Explorer. We do not recommend older versions of Internet Explorer.
¶ Each object has a name - at the top
All types of objects in the app need to be named. You fill in the internal name for a Walk or a Location in the field at the top center. The name is internal and it is not visible in the app.It is the name that you will se in your tree menu at the left.
¶ * Required fields
Always fill in all required fields - they are marked with a red star*. If you have forgotten a required field, you will receive red error message when trying to save. Complete what is missing and then click on 'Save and Publish' again.
¶ What happens when I press the green "Save and Publish" button?
Then your changes are saved and published. But that does not mean that the changes are visible in the app. To publish means that the changes can be seen on the web preview. In order for the changes to be visible in the app, you need to create a new version. See how to create a new version here.

¶ Publish and Unpublish
For example, if you want to unpublish a Walk so that it is temporarily not visible or not yet ready for publication, do the following:
Click the arrow to the right of the Save and Publish button - there is a choice: Unpublish. Your Walk will be "grayed out" and disappear from Preview and disappear at the next version.
¶ What does it mean if a walk or a stop in the tree menu is gray?
This means that the content has been unpublished and is not visible either in the Preview or in the app.
¶ The Three dots (...)
In the image above: the arrow, the house icon, the app name and three dots (…).
The whole system is built as a tree structure with the app's name as the highest level, there is also a house icon = Home level. To see what you can do in each level: click on the three dots (...) that appear when you hover over a the name of the App och a walk or a stop. Then a menu with all available options will appear.
¶ Other options
If you want to do something else than adding new content, like delete, sort or move, click on the three dots (…) and then select "Other" at the bottom. A menu with additional choices will appear.
¶ Content / Media
The CMS (editing tool) consists of two parts:
¶ Content
This is where you build your Walks and Locations. Most of the work of building the app takes place here.
¶ Media
All media such as pictures, sounds and movies are stored here. It works like a regular file system where you can add and delete files, create folders, rename files and so on. We recommend creating an organized folder structure from the beginning so that it is easy to find the right file. We also recommend that you name your files after the stop they belong to, making it easy for someone else to find the right file if it needs to be changed or something.
Basic features:
- Upload files by dragging and dropping the files or select files by clicking “
- or click here to choose files”. - Click the three dots (…) to Move, Delete or Sort Files or Folders.
- To rename a file or folder - select the name or folder and change the name at the top. Click on
Save and Publish.
¶ Upload files to Media from the Content section
To upload a file from your local hard drive - click on the plus (+) sign .
- Select the folder you want to upload to - NOTE click on the folder name to open the folder - not the folder icon (then the entire folder is selected). Alternatively, click the "+" sign to add a new folder.
- Then click the button
Upload. - Select the file on your hard drive.
- Select Image for images, select File for all other files.
- The file is now uploaded to the system (and placed in the folder you selected).
- The file is now at the bottom of the list.
- Select the file so that it is marked with a green check mark.
- Click
Submitand you will see that the image is uploaded.
¶ Where are the files stored?
All files are stored cloud-based via Microsoft Azure.

Check that the information in the first tab is filled in and correct.
¶ Application Fundamentals tab
This is a tab that we at OnSpotStory use to recompile apps.
¶ Live Design tab
This is a tab that we at OnSpotStory use to change and test new designs. But you will find your link to the web preview at the top.
