¶ How to Create a Walk

¶ Creating a Walk
To create a Walk you need:
- A cover image for the walk
- A text about the walk
- A number of Locations (stops) - usually between 5-15.
For each Location you need:
- A position (GPS coordinates or drag the map marker to the right location)
- A text
- At least one picture
- An audio file (optional)
- A movie file (optional)
- AR experience (optional, requires AR module)
- Quiz question (optional, requires Quiz module)
Do this:
- Click on the app name (house icon - highest level). Make sure you are in the Content section and not in the Media.
- Click on the three points (…).
- Select Walk.
- Select Blank.
- Enter an internal name for your walk at the top (this is just an internal name and will not be visible in the app).
- Fill in at least all fields that are mandatory, ie marked with one * (red star).
- Click
Save and Publish.
You have now created a walk but there are no locations/stops.
To create Locations:
- Click on the name of the walk.
- Click the three dots (…) that appear when hovering next to the walk name.
- Click on Location.
- Click Blank.
- Enter an internal name for your Location at the top (it is just an internal name and will not be visible in the app).
- Then fill in at least all fields that are mandatory, ie marked with one * (red star).
- Click
Save and Publish.
Continue to create Locations. In the app the locations will appear in the same order as they are submitted. To change the order: click on the Walk name, click on the three dots (…), select Other and then Sort. Then change the order by "clicking and dragging". Save.
¶ Hot to make the app ping when the user arrives at a place (GPS notification)
If the user has allowed the app yo track gps positions the app can notify the user when he or she arrives at a location. To set the trigger distance go to the Position tab of the Location and scroll down to he field: Trigger Distance. A common value is 25 meters. Minimum distance is about 10 meters. Each stop (Location) in a Walk can have individual distances.
¶ If you do not want it to ping? For example, if it is an indoor guide
To turn off GPS notifications for an entire Walk - click away Enable GPS Notificationsbelow Walk Map. If you do not want the app to show the user's own position (the blue circle) on the map - check Disable User Position on Map, also below the Walk Map.
You can also turn off GPS notifications for an individual Location by setting zero (0) as the Trigger Distancevalue.
¶ A question comes up after going through the whole Walk- can you remove the question?
When the user has visited all the Locations in a Walk, a notice will appear with a question: "You have visited all the stops, do you want to go back to the guide list?". You can delete that notice.
Select your Walk, select the tab Transitionsand click in Disable End Of Walk Prompt.
¶ Is it possible to remove the feauture that makes The stop at the bottom of the map to jump to the next stop automatically?
Yes, we can turn off that feature for the entire app - contact us. If you just want to turn it off for a specific Walk: Enter the Walk level, select Walk Mapand then activate Jump To Next Location Off.
¶ Can you view all Info-Pins on a Walk map without the user having to choose “show all” ?
Yes, go to the Walk level, select Walk Mapand then activate Info Pins Default On.
